“Smaller Fountain” (2022) pays homage to Marcel Duchamp’s infamous “Fountain” (1917) and the corresponding Readymade movement. Rob 1970 has a long history of recontextualizing everyday objects as seen throughout his career, especially in his pioneering curation of co-branded items with his lifestyle brand Alife.
