The Barillet Wall Plates is the new Wall Plates * Non Sans Raison designed by the artist and graphic designer Etienne Bardelli aka Akroe, is a design that combines mechanical graphical construction to the care and delicacy of Limoges porcelain. The architecture of degraded patterns is seen as conscientiously fractured, creating an energized combination chart. This spherical and fragmented composition , consisting of a constellation of fine black geometric shapes plots of various sizes and spacing, creates a subtle play of light and shadow. The deliberately minimal black inking is screen printed on the precious white enamel to increase the contrast and also remind of Louis Barillet's work, a master glassmaker during the interwar period who in a similar approach successfully combined minimal graphic design and traditional stained glass know-how.
